There are times when creative thinking is seen as needed at the beginning of a project and as an alternative to focused determination and the art of building on what has come before.   Creativity is required throughout the innovation process and to deliver excellence in any context.  Creativity is particularly required when what is needed is clarity, focus and agreement (not necessarily consensus).
